THE MEMORY LIBRARY

The Memory Library is a project in development. A hybrid gallery and artist development space, Memory Library seeks to work with local heritage to inspire creative projects that use immersive technology

Repositioning humanity and empathy at the forefront of new technologies and allowing audiences to connect to unheard stories from underrepresented communities and creatives.

The Memory Library will develop skills in new technology, commissioning artists to spend time learning virtual production and real-time suites, and make resources and equipment available to anyone interested to learn.

The Memory Library is a way we might re-phrase the harm of dangerous digital culture into something that empowers us to be human, together and connected.

MEMORY ARTS

I've been making work about memory with technology since 2018. In those 6 years of artistic practice I've worked with over 10 community groups, commissioned 20 artists and reached over 30,000 in-person audiences.

In this time I've developed a unique methodology for community working - developing "Creative Remembering" workshops thanks to support from Arts Council England. And, I've used this methodology to record memories from 100's of older, isolated or underserved people who's stories might otherwise have not been told.
